Love My Bobbie!

"Lucky" Official Video With Colbie Caillat

K, Nancy has been referring to this song on Facebook for a while now and I finally looked it up last week. I must have been living under a rock not to have heard this (or in nursing school) but regardless, I had not. I'm so in love with this song! It's now my ring tone for Joe (aka Bobbie) and it's so true! Love ya sweetie!

Lyrics:
Do you hear me,
I'm talking to you
Across the water across the deep blue ocean
Under the open sky, oh my, baby I'm trying
Boy I hear you in my dreams
I feel your whisper across the sea
I keep you with me in my heart
You make it easier when life gets hard

I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

They don't know how long it takes
Waiting for a love like this
Every time we say goodbye
I wish we had one more kiss
I'll wait for you I promise you, I will

I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Lucky we're in love every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

And so I'm sailing through the sea
To an island where we'll meet
You'll hear the music fill the air
I'll put a flower in your hair
though the breezes through trees
Move so pretty you're all I see
As the world keeps spinning round
You hold me right here right now

I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
I'm lucky we're in love every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooooh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

Kids' Dance Festival

Kelsey and Jake had a dance festival yesterday at their elementary school. This year it had a super hero theme. Kelsey was NOT happy about dancing to Power Rangers. They were both so cute. My children truly are my Super Heroes! Love you guys.

Running

New Motto : "Pain is temporary. Quitting lasts forever."
I realize it is so strange for me to even talk about running but I must say I'm starting to love it. I have NEVER been a runner. I tried track in junior high and it was hopeless. My track coach was a bit of a loser and saw nothing special in me. I don't think I got 5 minutes of her time the entire season. She'd just have me "go run half a mile," "go run 200 meters," "let's try hurdles," etc, etc. The list goes on. I never found what I was good at and the best I ever did in a race was 3rd. Not to mention, other kids said I looked "funny" when I ran.

So, now I'm an adult and I don't care if I look funny while I run. I've finished the biggest challenge in my life to this point (nursing school, duh?) and need a new one. So, why not running? Gives me something to work for and there is the great benefit of getting fit and looking good in clothes, right?

Last night I ran at 8:30 pm since I worked the night before and had slept through the day. It was so euphoric. The sound of music in my ears, cool breeze on my face, and a beautiful pink sunset off in the horizon. It was so nice I just kept running. I think it's the first time in my life I thought, "I get it now." I can see how people get addicted to this thing called running. I'm crossing my fingers that I can get addicted myself.

So . . . new goal in life. Running. Start with a 5k, then 10k, then 1/2 marathon. I think the goal may stop there. We'll see how the knees hold out. :)

New Favorite Blog!

K, I officially have a new favorite blog. Joe told me about it and it just cracks me up! Obviously, it's only going to be funny to Mormons, but I hope you enjoy. Warning: I have a crass sense of humor, so don't be offended if it's too "edgy" for you.

Random Example of Post :
Because there's nothing more annoying than
when your wife uses your hymn book.

Field Trip with the Kido

Today I got to hang out with my little Jake-o and go on a school field trip. You know the school district is hard up for money when your field trip is walking to the local grocery store. Got to love it!

I did enjoy being with him and will totally miss the day when the kids are too old to have field trips. They are growing up way too fast!

Love ya Jake. Thanks for not being too cool for your mom, just yet.

Lunch with the Gal Pals

Today I went to lunch with my girlfriends, Andrea and Kelly, that I lived by in Springville 8 years ago (wow, time flies!). It was so good to see them and catch up on life. Really missed seeing our other pals, Staci, Soon, Brandi, etc.

We all rented condos in the same complex and had little kids running around. I think it was one of the best summers of my life! We all hung out outside watching the kids, having BBQs, going to lunch, going shopping, etc! I happened to be prego (3rd trimester) with Jake, so I was the size of a whale, but the gals loved me just the same.

Thanks for the memories and your friendship. Without Andrea and Kelly showing me the way, I don't know that I would have had the nerve to plunge back into school. Way to go ladies. You inspire me and have changed my life for the better!
