BJ Flores Wins Fight.

Last weekend the "adults" flew down to Las Vegas to watch a boxing match. BJ, an old family friend (who I happened to babysit back in the day), is now a professional boxer, so we got to see him box. It was an eye-opening experience to say the least. Mike & Susie flew down with us and Debby and Curt flew in from Missouri. We had so much fun together.

My sister, Tammy, drove down with the kids from St. George and we visited all Saturday until we had to fly home. It was a short trip but packed with excitement and great company!

Sun and Fun in St. George

We decided to head out of the snow and dreariness this last weekend and went to St. George to visit my sister, Tammy. The cousins had a ball, the adults ate yummy food and enjoyed catching up on life, and we had a cool trek into the "cracks" near Zions National Park. Thanks Tammy, Randy, and family for a wonderful weekend and great hospitality!

Happy Birthday To You . . .

Kelsey turned 10 years old on the 10th. We had a fun day shopping, as Kelsey wanted to redecorate her room for her birthday. I think she takes after me! We finished the evening by eating at Kelsey's favorite restaurant, Teppanyaki, a Japanese steak house where they cook the food right in front of you at the table. Yes, I think she takes after me in the expensive food category also. Love you Kelsey!

Beatiful Sunset!

Joe called on his way home from work the other night to tell me to look outside. Check out what I saw! The sunset was gorgeous. Don't think I've seen one this pretty since our trip to Mexico in 2007. Thanks for the heads up honey.

Enough Snow Already!

Okay, am I living in the North Pole? I can't take this snow anymore! I took the yard stick out to the backyard today because I was sure there was at least 3 feet. I only got 11 stinking inches. I don't care if it's 11 inches or 1 inch, I need some green grass. Help!!!!!

!! Happy New Year !! *~* 2009 *~*

Happy New Year to one and all! We rang in the new year with our dearest friends, Jae, John, Mike, Susie, and all the children. We had a rockin' party at Jae and John's with yummy food, a scary movie
( it was intense and I threw a fit like a 5-year-old, sorry guys ) and great company at the strike of midnight. I even got a juicy kiss from my honey! Thanks Jae and John for the great night.

Christmas Eve Jubilation

Christmas eve was a fantastic evening for all! Our family, Joe's parents, Debby & Curt, and the Darringtons all joined the Holdsworths for a celebration. We had delicious food, great company, and we filled the rafters with singing. We read the Christmas story from the bible, read my mom's "The True Meaning of Christmas" poem, and shared our talents. Most of the children played the piano, my daughters played a flute/piano duet, and Susie and I brushed off the cobwebs and played our own flute/piano duet.

We are so blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives. We love you all.

Debby's "Redneck" 40th Birthday Celebration

We were so happy to have my sister, Debby, and her boyfriend, Curtis, visit for the holidays this year. Debby is a Christmas eve baby, so we got to celebrate her 40th birthday with her. We planned a surprise party that was a hoot! Debby's a big Nascar fan, so we made Nascar "Team Debby #40" shirts with age appropriate sponsors. We had all our friends show up at the house and then had an Escalade limousine pick us up for our birthday activities. The limo was a blast and quite trashy, which fit in with the theme (a little too well).

Speaking of trashy, we then drove Debby to "Hooters" for a redneck lunch. I kept covering Jake's eyes to prevent him from discovering why men go to Hooters. After lunch we went bowling and very fittingly, Debby won! I wish I could say we did that on purpose, but we pretty much all sucked.

It was a fun day for all and hopefully very memorable for Debby! Love you sis.
