Okay, so if you do Facebook, just ignore the following lists. They were posted on Facebook this week. I'm adding them here because I actually love reading other people's lists. It's a fun way to get to know people better. First is my list, then Joe's. I really like #1 on Joe's list. :) 1. My family means more to me than ANYTHING in the world. I got so lucky when I chose Joe as my hubby. I thought he was wonderful before we got married, but 14 ½ years later, I think he’s even that much better. He is FuNNy, kind, hard working, dependable, and I can’t imagine life without him. (He also has some dang sexy calf muscles!)
2. I have two beautiful girls and an adorable little boy. My kids are so much fun. Even at my worst moments of frustration, I can’t imagine not having them. They are cute, funny, smart, and enjoyable to be around. I hope they’ll never be “too cool” to hang out with me. They are my life.
3. I am graduating from UVU on May 1st with my AS in Nursing. I’ll have my RN and be a “real” grown up. I went into school only wanting to do Labor and Delivery but now I’m also thinking about hospice, ER, surgery, etc, . . . the list goes on. So many options!
4. I have had a few nick names in my life. “Winnie the Pooh,” as a child, then “Rug Rat,” which was affectionately given by my older brother. I’ve also been called “Wendel,” and Joe calls me “Bobbie.” I’ve been called a lot of other names, but those aren’t appropriate to list. ;)
5. I have multiple personalities when it comes to music. I love hip hop, something with a good beat and some bass. I’m also a fan of top 40’s, which Joe can’t stand. I go through phases where I love country. It cycles around every 4-5 years (Strange, I know).
6. I am a self-proclaimed reality show junkie. I LoVE watching American Idol, Biggest Looser, and Survivor. I know Survivor’s been around forever, but I still get a kick out of it. I also love watching The Office. Funny stuff.
7. I don’t like picking favorites. I don’t have a favorite movie or favorite song. I definitely don’t have a favorite food.
8. Speaking of food. I ReaLLy enjoy food. I mean I ReaLLy, enjoy it! It is one of my favorite past times. Any good social event must have food associated with it. I am not a picky eater. Some of my favorites are Greek food (Aristo’s in SLC), Indian food (Bombay House in Provo), Thai Food (Thai Chili Garden in Orem), Mexican food (Las Tarascas in Provo), and Korean food (Sam Hawk in Provo). I think I should become a food critic since I frequent restaurants so often.
9. I have issues getting my brain and mouth to work together. This is very frustrating when you can’t stand looking dumb. I have a tendency of swapping the first letters of the words in my sentences. It can be “rotally tidiculous.” My family knows better than to correct me. They just figure it out in their own heads. It is 10 times worse when I am sleep deprived, which explains the last 12 years of my life.
10. Speaking of looking dumb, I also cannot use idioms. I ALWAYS mess them up. Instead of saying, “he doesn’t have a leg to stand on,” I’ll combine two idioms and say, “he doesn’t’ have a prayer to stand on.” Obviously, combining it with, “doesn’t have a prayer.” This is one of many examples that I have honestly done. I just need to give up! It is always good for a laugh (except it’s not usually me laughing).
11. One of the reasons I went in to nursing is because I have a strong desire to travel to third world countries and do humanitarian service. I am hoping once my kids have grown a little more, I can travel and fulfill that dream.
12. I have 2 older brothers and 2 older sisters. I am the baby. Hmmm. . . that should explain a lot.
13. I look (and act) a lot like my mother. This used to bother me but now I’m embracing it, especially since my mom passed away. It’s fun to see people’s faces that haven’t seen me for years. They look like they are seeing a ghost. They are amazed at how much I look like her. I just take it as a compliment since I think my mom was beautiful.
14. Speaking of my family, my parents were awesome people! I miss them each and every day. It still ticks me off that my children don’t get to hang out with them during this lifetime. They made this world a better place and made me who I am. They will forever be AwESoMe.
15. I am chilled to the bone from October to May each year. I love warm weather. I can’t stand the cold. My dream world would have almost 4 months each of spring, summer, and fall. 2 weeks maximum for winter! That’s all anyone needs.
16. Back to my favorite subject . . . food. When I eat a meal, I always ensure that the last bite I take has a perfect mixture of food and flavor. I will move food around and have my perfect “last bite” just waiting for the end. You want that last flavor that sticks with you to be good, right? (Do I have issues?)
17. I was born in Boise, Idaho, in the same hospital my father and 4 siblings were born in. I have lived in Idaho, Missouri, Utah, Texas, Nevada, Missouri, and Utah again (in that order). I love Utah, but in my heart, Missouri will always be home.
18. Indeed, Pie Night IS the most wonderful night of the year!
19. I LoVe to laugh. I am totally drawn toward people with a sense of humor. I love Joe for many reasons, but I think his sense of humor won me over. And sarcasm . . . well, that’s one more thing I can offer. :)
20. One of my favorite things in the world is working outside in my flower gardens. I get total joy out of this and it puts me in a state of nirvana. There is such satisfaction in being “co-creators” with God. Kind of like being a mother but in a much lesser, day-to-day kind of way. I could stare at flowers for hours.
21. I have always gotten along better with boys than girls. I think it’s all the drama girls like to dish out. That being said, I have some WonDerFul girlfriends. I love going out to lunch with the girls (which I did today), eating yummy Korean food with a girlfriend who is awesome enough to make it, or flying to Vegas with my girlfriend just to eat a buffet! (True story) You guys know who you are and I love you all!
22. I can’t get off the friend subject until I mention my best friend. My sister, Debby, has been a life-long, true-to-the-end, love-you-unconditionally, crack-me-up, kind of friend. Life is just better when she’s around. She lives in Missouri and I miss her everyday. God knew I couldn’t make it through this life without her. She makes me smile and gets me laughing those deep belly laughs. Love you sis!
23. Deep down, I am very shy and a little insecure.
24. I reconnect with nature and my inner soul each summer in Yellowstone. I LoVe it. Something about the crisp air, cool breeze in your hair, long hikes, and (you guessed it) the food, makes me happy for the rest of the year.
25. It’s weird to admit, and a little embarrassing, but I am HaPPy! I have a really good life. I would like to think that I have made some good decisions along the way to get to the place I am, but really I think I’ve just been immensely blessed. I believe in a loving Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ. They are the reason I can be this happy.
Now for Joe's list . . .
1. Wendy is the coolest chick I know. She is smart, beautiful, determined, classy and a hard worker. She takes great care of our family and home. She also does this one thing that I totally love. I don't know what I did to end up with such a wonderful woman. Wendy, you complete me...
2. I have three kids that I love and adore. They bring great joy to my life. I want them to be happy, safe, confident and successful. Generally speaking I like children. Little ones make me smile but not so much when they are noisy in restaurants or at the movies.
3. I did not have my first Pop Tart until I was 17. I did not know you had to remove the wrapper before putting them in the microwave. If you try and heat a Pop Tart in the microwave with the wrapper still on, it WILL catch on fire. Bonus: If you cut a grape almost all the way in half (only leave the skin connecting the two halves) and fold it open so that the two halves are touching but still connected by the skin then put that in a microwave on high for 20 seconds or so... It will create an amazing light show. You may want to try this in someone else’s microwave.
4. As a child I had a recurring nightmare about a furry monster in my grandparent’s basement. He would chase me up the stairs and I could only run in slow motion and he would always catch me. I still don’t like basements and I have to make a conscious effort not to run up the stairs.
5. Nobody rocks like AC/DC - one of my guilty pleasures.
6. My personal
LSR is 163mph. I would like to top 200 before (or on the way to) my death.
7. My favorite movie is
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. This is because it was one of only two movies we had on Laser Disk growing up and I watched it a
bajillion times. I am not as fond of The Sound of Music.
8. I believe in guardian angels and I think sometimes they come in the form of real people that are sent into our lives. I have been truly blessed with great friends and they have saved my life more than once. On a related note, I no longer believe in ghosts.
9. I didn't get along with high school and it didn't get along with me. I love learning new things. That may be why we didn't get along.
10. I really enjoy trying new foods but I do not like cooked carrots.
11. My favorite place in the world is the grove of trees that surround the spring on Nellie’s. Approx. +40° 9' 34.55", -111° 25' 34.57"
12. I have a strong belief in God and a lot of faith that he loves me and wants me to succeed. I also believe that he loves you.
13. I have seen the Northern Lights one time. It was in
Southern Utah at about
3:00 in the morning. It was the opening morning of the deer hunt. If you pray that something will be a learning experience, be prepared for an answer to that prayer.
14. My mother in law and father in law are some of the best people I have ever met. I miss them every day.
15. Sick, wheezy, cats with oozy boogers in their eyes freak me out. I really want them to be healthy, but I wouldn't touch them with a 10' pole. (Well I might, and the cat would be in a better place, but some people don’t think like I do.)
16. I want to live somewhere where I can grow citrus in my back yard.
17. I love mechanical things. Guns, watches, cars, boats, planes, tractors, food processing machinery... They all make me smile.
18. Pie night is the most wonderful night of the year.
19. Ninjas or Pirates? Ninjas!
20. Giving stripper shoes for Christmas is something I never really thought of. Getting stripper shoes for Christmas is also something that I hadn't thought of.
21. Being from
Utah County is kind of a love/hate thing. I still like
BYU football and am amused by the culture that surrounds it but I absolutely love it when
Utah does well.
22. I would rather teach a group of 50 adults than a group of five 8 year
olds.
23. I want people around me to be happy and I can be giving to a fault.
24. My favorite performance car is the 2005-2006 Ford GT.
25. I cannot stand negativity and whiners.
