"Spooktacular" Halloween costumes

HaPPy HaLLowEEn! We got up and moving early this morning so the kids could be dressed in costume before school. As you can see, all children (including TJ) looked fabulous. The kids all chose their own costumes. Morgan was a hippie chick, Jake a Ninja, and Kelsey was an evil bunny. She looked all sweet and innocent until she opened her mouth and growled with her fangs! EEEeeekkk!You can tell by TJ's face how happy he is with Halloween. I really think he put the "hot" back in hot dog. :)

Much to my dismay, I have to do clinical at the hospital tonight until 3:30 am, so Joe is in charge of the Halloween festivities. The kids are going to trick-or-treat at Novell and then party with dad. I'm sure by the time I make it home they will all be in sugar comas.

New Mr. Pumpkin Head tradition

October 28, 2008. The older I get, the lazier I am. The last few years I have struggled to get excited about carving jack-o-lanterns. Even though the end product is extremely cool, the mess and time it takes makes me dread it every year. Well, not this year. I found these fantastic Mr. Potato Head attachments for pumpkins. The kids had fun, there was no mess, and Joe even got to use a power tool. (It was helpful to pre-drill holes.) Everyone happy . . . successful memory and NEW tradition. :)

Trip to Whitefish, Montana

My Aunt Arleen (mom's sister) passed awaythe end of September '08. We drove with the family and my sister, Tammy, to the funeral in Whitefish, Montana. Montana was beautiful as always. Was nice to visit with my grandma (in pic with me and my sister) and other relatives. Now my grandma has both my mom and my aunt to be her guardian angels.

Kids first day of school '08

Look at these crazy children. They just keep growing up! Morgan started junior high this year, Kelsey is in 4th grade, and Jake in 2nd. Wow, how time flies.

All 3 Weight kids are now "tonsil free!"

July 18, 2008. Jake and Kelsey both got their tonsils out on the same day. What joy for them. Jake did pretty good and was bouncing around at home that evening. Kelsey didn't fair as well and started bleeding again that night. After a lovely late night visit to the E.R., all was fixed and well. Both recovered within a couple weeks and now all three children are "tonsil free." So far, so good. No strep in our home for the past five months!

Lehi roundup rodeo parade

June 27, 2008. Morgan, Kelsey, and Jake participated in the ward float for the Lehi parade. Morgan was forced against her own will since she has just recently turned 12 and thought she was too grown up for the primary float. The girls carried the banner and Jake walked behind the float. Oh . . . so cute.

A "beary" fun Yellowstone trip

June '08. Our annual Yellowstone trip was fantastic again this year. There was only one minor discomfort (freezing cold weather) but all else was good. Thanks Aunt Toni and Uncle Shirl.

May 28, 2008. Morgan's first school dance. Exactly when did she go from being my cute little baby to being this cute little teenie bopper? Watch out world, here she comes.

Will school ever end?

Is it just me, or have I been in school FOREVER?
I know my family must think so.

Just wanted to share some pics of the people who are helping me get through this and retain my sanity. (Okay, who am I fooling, that's been gone forever!)

I really have made some great friends and have some good stories and fun memories. All I can say is thank heavens I haven't killed any one (so far). ;)

Nascar mania

April 12, 2008. Go Jimmie Johnson! We flew to Phoenix to see a Nascar race. Met Debby & Curt from Missouri, and friends Mike & Susie.

Young children - shield your eyes. Debby had seen homemade redneck tank tops and was sweet enough to make one for each of the girls. :) She used Hanes underwear, turned upside down, with a strategically cut hole.

We ate lunch at a nice restaurant and before leaving, the girls excused ourselves to use the restroom. Debby, Susie, and I surprised the boys and walked out wearing these awesome tops. To add to the craziness, we had Nascar tattoos on our arms. Oh, yes. . . that is our under garments hanging out. No worries, we quickly changed into modest clothing but had a great laugh. The boys were so embarrassed they couldn't even look at us. FUNNY! I really am a true redneck.

Behold the beauty of the Grand Canyon

March '08 we went with friends (Mike, Susie, and Annie) to the Grand Canyon. We road the train, ate a yummy lunch, enjoyed the view in the chilly 30 degree weather, and had a good ole' fashioned train robbery on the way back. It was a day to remember.

Jake was a crazy "leather head" the entire day and wore an old fashioned leather driver's/pilot's cap. I don't even think he took it off to eat. That's him hiding under the hat in the pic.

Morgan at regional science fair

March 25, 2008. Morgan advanced from both the school and district science fairs to go to the regional science fair at BYU. She did an experiment on the effects of Wii sports on your heart rate, etc. She took 4th place at the regional level. Way to go!

Driving fast in Arizona

Joe went to Arizona in December '07 to visit his friend Mike and have a fun "boys weekend." Basically, that meant they drove fast cars, watched movies, ate good food, and didn't hear nagging for 2 days straight.


In March '08 the whole family went to Arizona to visit Mike and Susie. This time, the adults ditched the kids and we all drove fast cars. Well, I guess Susie and I didn't drive. We just sat in the passenger seats with our heads plastered to the head rest and we squealed like school girls (or at least I did). It was a heck of a lot of fun.

Taking my nephew, Mitchell, to MTC

Dropped off Mitch at the MTC on 1/23/08. He left for a mission to Kingston, Jamaica. Fun day but a tear jerker. How am I going to drop off my own son some day? Elder Harris is doing good and it's fun to read his emails.
