My Bleeding Heart

Seriously, this post isn't about a "broken heart," it's about my actual Bleeding Heart plant in my back flowerbed. The bleeding heart or Dicentra spectabilis (binomial name for weirdos) is bringing me such joy! Just call me a flower geek! This plant completely dries up in the winter and is cut to the ground. Then, amazingly, in the spring in only a month or two, it grows 2-3 feet tall and has these beautiful blooms. YES, this picture is from My plant. Spring does my heart such good.

Thank You Family

My family made Mother's Day wonderful! My sweet children adorned me with gifts. Jake brought in the large whiteboard (above). Translation: Coupon for foot rub. Give back to Kelsey after using this (the whiteboard belongs t her). To mom. $10 - 10 = $0 He is so dang cute. I took him up on that foot rub and it was great.

Joe got the girls and me a corsage. This is a long standing tradition, as my father used to do this for my mother and his daughters. I always tell Joe he doesn't have to do it but he still does and I love him for it! I had tears in my eyes as he was pinning them on the girls and explaining to Jake the importance of women and their potential to work with God and become Mothers. I married an awesome man. I love you family!

Happy Day

Happy Mother's Day to all you beautiful moms out there. Just wanted to say that you are my heroes. I can't imagine anything more wonderful than being a mother. I have such a great mother-in-law (Love you Carol) and sisters and sister-in-laws that are good examples to me. I miss my mom so much! Life is not the same without your dear mom. Cherish every moment you have with them.

Here is an adorable video I stole from Nancy's blog. Enjoy and give yourselves a squeezy hug. Moms have the best jobs in the world.

My Birthday Boy

Today is my "Bobbie's" (nickname) 37th birthday. Happy Birthday Honey!! I hate to admit that I have been so busy lately that I have completely neglected him today. I worked last night and thought I'd get off in time to get to the store and bring home a card, some cash, and a gift or two. Well, long story short, no card, no cash, and no gifts (yet). At least we had some yummy indian food for dinner!

I do promise to make amends in the next day or two, but I'm sorry honey. . . I didn't spoil you the way you deserve to be spoiled. You are the love of my life and the man of my dreams. You are a wonderful human being, a strong man, a kind husband, and loving father (not to mention you are pretty steamy hot).

We've been married 15 years this August and I love you more today than ever. I can't wait to grow old with you (as long as I get my Botox, hair color, and plastic surgery to keep me fresh.) Thanks for putting up with my fiery attitude and keeping me laughing. You truly are the BEST.
I LOVE YOU LIKE CRAZY!!

Party Time!

After the formal events for the day, Susie and my sisters threw me a party. You gotta love a graduation luau! As you can tell from the pics, my sister Debby had me dressed up crazy (I think it's revenge for her last b-day party). We had lots of laughs. Thanks for the party, it made my day perfect!

Joe offered up his fantastic cooking skills and did a shrimp boil. Um, hum, finger licking good! We all gathered around the table and loaded our plates.

Finally, Debby offered endless humor with this cake. She used a pic of me on the beach in Mexico (trying to be funny and look sexy) and had it blown up on a cake. The best part was the air bubbles that formed under the pic. The bubbles kept moving and provided hours of laughter. At first it appeared as though I had boils but by the end of the night I had a fat eye and Angelina Jolie lips.

Graduation May 1, 2009

So, the big day finally arrived and was great! Commencement was 2 hours and would have been miserable except President Monson spoke and was wonderful. I sat near the front of the McKay Events Center so it was cool to be so close to him. Pres. Eyring and Pres. Uchtdorf were also there and made it special.

Convocation was immediately after commencement and lasted another 2 hours. Holy Long! I know my family and friends must really love me to sit through all that. We were all texting back and forth through the ceremonies and entertained ourselves. Don't worry, I tried to be discreet and hide my rudeness.

Classmates and me after the ceremonies. Can you see the relief on our faces? I know I could feel it!

Me and my honey! I think it's time for some rest and relaxation. Joe deserves a nice romantic weekend getaway to make up for all those nights he went to bed alone while I stayed up studying. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink!

Both my sisters, Debby and Tammy, came for the big day. Debby's boyfriend, Curtis, also flew in from Missouri. Aunt Toni, Uncle Shirl, and my in-laws, Carol and Lynn also attended with us. Wow, THANK YOU so much!

Finally, my dear friends Jae and John and also Susie and Annie attended. (Susie and Annie snuck out before pics were taken.) I love all you guys and am so grateful to have you in my life!
